Pisa, Italy / day trip

When you’re only 1 hour away Pisa you have to jump on a train to go and see such an iconic monument!

Today we left Florence on at 8 o’clock train to Pisa and by 10 o’clock we were standing in front of the Leaning Tower of Pisa! Such a surreal moment for such a brilliant and quirky architectural building. This location also makes for quite the comedic show as everyone had their arms stretched to the side of them followed by their partners laying on the floor trying to grab that candid shot!

So the history boom have it, it wasn’t built to be a ‘leaning tower’. After starting to built to structure it then started to lean due to the softer half of the ground which the Tower was constructed upon. If this hadn’t been the case and the Tower did not accidentally lean then we would not be here today which is a very weird thought.

The only thing really to do in Pisa is to see the Leaning Tower so to fill our 3 hours of being here we decided to sunbathe on the grass surrounding the monument and enjoy the holiday life!

Even though I laughed about the tourists trying to grab shots of the tower of course we had to do one ourselves so enjoy the amusement of below.
